Okay, the noun is spelled "mucus," and the adjective is spelled "mucous." I accidentally spelled the latter instead of the former, but since the former is also correct in this context, I can claim it was intentional. Or I could have before I revealed the ugly truth.

Call off the rescue chopper -- 54 miles of trail and left no mucilage behind. Blog ethics? What about Calif writers who want to comment on Chad the M.A. but are too lazy to go back to that post? i.e.:
10 years ago at a VW service counter, an elderly-- as in older than 'ell- woman insisted my coworker Thomas have her car's tires inflated 4 lbs past the max spec, leering and saying, I kid you not:
"Thomas... you know I like a HARD RIDE..."
