PART MAN, PART BUCKET

I would never trust my health to a doctor whose diploma wears the big, bright Texaco star.

(If I date myself, that means someone at least is dating me.)

Yet, ironically, Texaco's slogan was "Trust the man with the star." It's even quoted in the Rickie Lee Jones song "Last Chance Texaco."

As to your "Date myself" joke, I just used that the other day in conversation. And it wasn't the first time. I think I've even used it in Fusco once. Or twice.

I recall the TV ads as singing:

You can trust your car,
To the man who wears the star...

Dating yourself is fine, just don't marry yourself (the divorce will be ugly).

You're probably right about the jingle. Leave it to Rickie Lee Jones to get it wrong.

That looks like Elton John with Don Adams.
