We live about 2 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge, a classic suicide locale. I've often wondered: Do callers to suicide hotlines ever get, "Your call is important to us... please remain on the line for the next available operator..." and then Muzak? Or, as a silly prank, would it be possible to convince someone who spends graveyard shifts as a suicide hotline operator that their life isn't worth living?
