In 1993 another musician and I partnered to write and record an album under the name Duryea Duryea. The name was a joke: a mash-up of Duran Duran and Dan Duryea. We didn't like Duran Duran, but we liked Dan Duryea. Musically, we sounded more like the latter than the former, which was not very commercial, since Dan Duryea was an actor. My friend Leslie Udry did illustrations for the album and a single (I did the lettering). We placed an ad in a music paper for the single, then we broke up over artistic differences before the music was completely finished.
This is one of the many reasons I love Show Biz.
