MULTIPLE-DIPPING
I did this for a gallery show in 1986. I think before that I did a version for the Philadelphia Daily News to accompany an article on Fairmount Park. Before that it was in a comic strip proposal that never went anywhere, called Minimal Mouse.
Then in 1989 I used the idea for the first Fusco Brothers Sunday strip, turning Minimal Mouse into Axel Fusco.
It also kicked off the first Fusco book collection.

MORE UNSOLICITED VISUAL FACT-CHECKING AIMED AT THE NEW YORKER
The cover of the latest New Yorker features a clothesline stretching between the Flatiron Building and (presumably) another building.
This is all well and good, but the clothesline appears to be a non-retractable, single line.
How are you going to get your long johns back into the Flatiron Building now, Eustace Tilley?
