PREHISTORIC FUSCO 7
The Fusco Brothers originally had a teenage nephew, but I quickly realized that he and the teenage wolverine would simply compete for the same gags, so he was dropped from the strip.
PREHISTORIC FUSCO 3
I came up with The Fusco Brothers in 1985 and pitched it to the newspaper syndicates, who all turned it down. Later, in 1989, I pitched it again and it got picked up. In the interim, newspapers had changed the size requirements for comics, so I had to redraw the strips to the new size. This is another one of the original versions (I posted two others here a month ago). This one is especially rare because Gloria was still named Sylvia.

PETER TORK
Back in 1991 I did a Fusco Brothers strip in which their band was considering wearing Monkees shirts and Mike Nesmith hats. Through my syndicate I got a letter from Peter Tork (not Mike Nesmith) asking if he could have the original. I sent it to him and asked if he had any original Monkees stuff to send me in return. He sent a bunch of sweatshirts from a Monkees comeback tour and a folder with a photo and an inscription in it.
