GOOD SCHLOCK, BAD SCHLOCK

When I was a kid the excellent John Zacherle, as Roland, hosted horror movies in Philadelphia. When he took his show to New York, changing his character's name to Zacherley, he was replaced by the not-so-excellent Dr. Shock.

Same schtick, different schlock value.

For Christian Rub, the good news was that he landed a role in a Dracula movie. The bad news was that he played "Dead Man at Inquest."

CRASS COMMERCIALISM

If a person were to ever buy a New Yorker cartoon of mine on a coffee mug, this is what it would look like, hypothetically.

Various people seem to be claiming credit for inventing this word, so I'll throw my hat in the ring with this old greeting card of mine. The copyright on the back reads 1982.

MY BACK PAGES
