YES!! I'm convinced Edmunds must be the grandfather of Defoe! There's also an even more vivid resemblance in an on-line photo of Edmunds with Jimmy Stewart from 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Edmunds last appearance was on the TV show Sunset Strip in the 60s, which I watched as a kid.
