RING BINDER PAIN


If you're a drawing in a blank book that's held together with a ring binder, it must be painful to share space with the rings.

Some time ago this cartoon of mine was rejected by the New Yorker (and other magazines):


So I ended up putting it on a licensing site (Cartoonstock):


Then some time after that, the same basic gag showed up in the New Yorker, as done by another cartoonist:


Nothing sinister went on here. These cartoon coincidences happen often, and I've been on both sides of the equation.
